How It Works
Embarking on a journey towards a more youthful appearance has never been easier. Here's a step-by-step guide to what you can expect during a PDO Thread Lift procedure at SOHO Wellness Med Spa.
Step 1: Consultation
Your journey begins with a personalized consultation with our experienced medical professionals. During this session, we will assess your skin condition, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine if PDO Thread Lift is the right treatment for you.
Step 2: Preparing the Treatment Area
Once you are comfortable and ready to proceed, the treatment area is cleansed and numbed using local anesthesia to ensure a pain-free experience.
Step 3: Inserting the Threads
Using a fine needle, Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are strategically inserted into the layers of the skin. These threads act as a scaffold structure which helps to lift and tighten the skin.
Step 4: Lifting and Tightening
As the threads are pulled tight, they lift and reposition the sagging skin, creating an immediate lifting effect. The threads are then secured, and the excess is snipped off.
Step 5: Collagen Stimulation
Over the following weeks and months, the PDO threads will gradually dissolve, stimulating collagen production in the treated areas. This helps to maintain the lifting effect and improve the texture and elasticity of your skin.
Time Required
The procedure is usually completed within 30 to 60 minutes, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.
Pain Level
Thanks to local anesthesia, the treatment is generally pain-free. Some patients report a slight tugging sensation during the procedure, but discomfort is minimal.
Recovery Time
Most patients experience mild swelling and bruising, which typically subsides within a few days. You can expect to return to your regular activities shortly after the procedure.

What is Botox?Botox is a drug derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When injected in small amounts, it can block nerve signals and reduce muscle activity, which helps to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.
-
What areas can be treated with Botox?Botox is commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes (crow's feet). It can also be used to treat other conditions, such as excessive sweating, migraines, and certain muscular disorders.
-
How does Botox work?Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. This causes temporary muscle paralysis, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
-
How long does a Botox treatment take? Most Botox treatments take around 10-30 minutes, depending on the number of injections needed.
-
When will I see results after a Botox treatment? Results from a Botox treatment can be seen within 1 to 3 days, but the full effect may not be noticeable until 1 to 2 weeks after the treatment.
-
How long do the results from Botox last? The results from Botox typically last 3 to 4 months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again.
-
Are there any side effects of Botox?Side effects of Botox can include pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Some people may also experience a headache or flu-like symptoms. In rare cases, Botox can cause more serious side effects, such as difficulties in swallowing, speaking, or breathing.
-
Is there any downtime after a Botox treatment? Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after a Botox treatment. However, it's advised to avoid strenuous activities, exposure to the sun, and lying down flat for a few hours after the treatment.

What’s the Difference Between BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau?BOTOX: BOTOX Cosmetic is one of the most well-known and widely used botulinum toxin type A injectables. It has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of various cosmetic concerns, including frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. BOTOX typically starts to take effect within a few days and the results can last for several months. Dysport: Dysport is another botulinum toxin type A injectable that is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. It works similarly to BOTOX by relaxing the muscles and smoothing out the wrinkles. Dysport may have a slightly faster onset of action compared to BOTOX, with some patients noticing results within 2-3 days. Xeomin: Xeomin is also a botulinum toxin type A injectable indicated for the temporary improvement of glabellar lines, which are the vertical lines between the eyebrows. It does not contain any additives, which means that it is a "naked" form of botulinum toxin. The results of Xeomin are similar to BOTOX and Dysport, with visible improvement within a few days. Jeuveau: Jeuveau, also known as "NEWTOX", is the newest addition to the family of botulinum toxin type A injectables. It is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines. Jeuveau works similarly to other botulinum toxin type A injectables by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. The onset of action and duration of results are comparable to BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin.
